The oldest learned society in Norway
The Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters has 360 ordinary members as of January 2019. The total number of members is 759 when we include members above the age of 70. Members belong to either the Humanities Division (143) or the Natural-Science Division (217).
Protector
His Majesty King Harald is the Protector of the Society.
H.M. Queen Sonja and TRH Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are honorary members.
